Alignments of heavenly bodies are revealers - they operate and manifest thru progressive stages.
The effects of eclipses are slow: they start with what is visible to the naked eye. After further scrutiny over the less perceptible, they reach a peak revealing then a need for rectification .. later on, what lied completely hidden at the beginning comes to the fore - in all clarity and full meaning.
The same goes for any planetary cycle : there are as many stages of manifestations to be considered as there are aspects forming between two celestial bodies that move along. But we generally tend to reduce the cycle to four stages which represent the main 'crisis' points.
The present Jupiter.Pluto cycle which started on December 11 2007 with a conjunction at 28°24 Sagittarius, was also aligned with the much talked about Galactic Center and has recently moved into its waxing square .. closing thereof the first chapter to this Jupiter.Pluto.Galactic Center story.
When the God of greater Fortune (most visible) and the God of the Underworld (most invisible) align with our Galactic Center, it should be considered as an event of outmost significance and their impact may well go beyond anything we are capable of imagining!
Let's first look at the conjunction chart:

There is an outstanding pattern in the chart above .. an incomplete Seal of Solomon (the peaceful) or house shape (appearing inverted here) is formed by a grand water trine between Venus.Mars.Uranus with two of its ends forming oppositions with Saturn and the Moon. The sextiles in the chart make Venus the meeting point of two kite formations.
If we also choose to consider Ceres as part of the pattern, then the Seal becomes complete with another grand trine in the Earth element.
Even in its incomplete shape, the Seal gives a sense of stability because of the rectangle formed by trines and sextiles .. in fact there is a profusion of sextiles in this chart, no less than seven (nine when Ceres is taken in)! It indicates tremendous versatility, a chain of opportunities along with protections and outside help ... as long as we find a fitting external outlet for the energies involved.

What may appear to be about mere looks and aesthetic at first, is in fact vital : we may have reached a point in our present civilization where our only hope for natural forces to be kept in 'order' , is if we make a tremendous effort to revert the unhappy consequences of our excessive 'materialism' and if we try to compensate for our past self-indulgence by a serious discipline ..
Let's now remember the relationship between Center and Source.
The "source" comes from the latin 'surgere' : to spring up .. and is generally connected to the water element, that of the grand trine in the chart above.
Water in astrology is associated with soul, feelings, emotional ebbs and flow, undercurrents, a lack of boundaries, unconscious, telepathy .. and healing energy.
Whereas Earth is associated with matter, Nature, body / physical world, the tangible and concrete, the sense of touch, possessions, reality, productivity .. the manifest.
The issue brought up with this Jupiter.Pluto conjunction has much to do with the power of Love and with the manifestation of a healing energy.
When aligned with the free flowing universal 'source' of all, we may stand upon a nurturing ground that will reveal OUR highest common purpose.
The alignment with the Galactic Center however also signifies that beyond our comprehension, guidance will come from outside our familiar/known world or solar system ..
Coming back to the present and some simple summery truths :
This month of August is marked by the dynamics of the ongoing Jupiter.Uranus.Saturn.Pluto T-Square which has once again been under much pressure first with the recent entrance of Mars into Libra followed now by that of Venus.
When the Moon briefly passes thru the beginning degrees of Cancer, the T-Square will be set in its Grand Cross motion on August 7th. We should therefore expect some important turn of the wheel on that date!

On August 10 the Leo New Moon puts what these times are about into simple evidence: the pattern in the above chart is reduced to essentials, that is to the T-Square between Jupiter.Saturn.Uranus.Pluto - currently transited and activated by both Mars and Venus in Libra.

A Chemist Conducts An Experiment For His Students
In the long chain of human efforts to master Nature and its elements, the scientific mind has a purely intellectual approach to the world - but in order to be integrated, such knowledge can't be merely theoretical it needs to be transmitted thru practice. Let's not forget that chemistry is a branch of Alchemy: isn't the ultimate transformation, that which is meant to happen within ourselves?
The elements at play here are Fire, Air and Earth : Water is missing - and as usual when an element is missing, an overcompensation can be expected. The month following this Leo New Moon may be laden with all kinds of emotional responses - let's hope it won't bring out too much irrationality.
On one hand, the seemingly rather lonely and unaspected Sun.Moon conjunction, might also end up expressing itself thru overcompensation - dangerously so for misplaced egos and identities .. but it does form two minor aspects/sesquiquadrates to Jupiter.Uranus and Pluto, calling for a dramatic self-expression (Leo) of one's beliefs .. surrounded by much self-publicity and in a storm of controversy.
The tug of war here is between 'radical fast change' (Jupiter.Uranus in Aries) and gradual deap-seated transformation (Saturn in Libra - Pluto in Capricorn).
On the other hand Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, all in retrograde motion, require much introspection in their "let's shift gears" ballet. And let's not forget that Mercury will also turn 'inward' on the 21st !
So yes, drama seems at hand.
The passage of Mars and Venus over the Cardinal cross does indicate the emergence of new collective archetypes and it would be useless to look at previous models for comparison or time reference.
In fact Mars and Venus, two of the personal/inner planets, are to start a new cycle on the 20th and should be considered like the main protagonists in this new moon chart ... they are accelerating the process and are bringing the current global changes into the personal realm: what was distant news on TV is hitting many homes now and is affecting the daily lives of more and more people in a painful and immediate manner.

The best way to digest a meal, is in a state of rest and relaxation. Such time lapse is also necessary to restore our psyche's integrity.
After much listening and observation I have come to notice how, many people currently feel like events are occurring outside of "themselves" and like they are powerless in affecting the course of 'things'.
In other words, they don't see themselves as actors in what is happening but are often overwhelmed by fear of the future or other irrational emotions .. which also explains the number of depressions around.
In previous posts I have called things by their names and analyzed the current energies at work .. yes, this is a time of recession, hunger, death, natural disasters .. Our lifestyle's impact on the environment is evermore violent and destructive with manmade disasters spreading toxicity like never before.
We are going thru a period of crucial changes where growth and evolution is demanded, yet seemingly hard to achieve... Let's remember that these are also times of new seeds and new visions for the long term.
So don't lose faith in Humanity nor in your own capacity .. be ready if not happy to live with less, keep plowing, concentrate on what is at hand, look inside for what needs to be altered and for the necessary means so as to implement it in your life.

Synchronically with the New Moon chart and the symbols mentioned above, the month of Ramadhan is also about to start a period dedicated to purification, inner reflection, devotion to God and self-control. It traditionally consists in fighting our 'lower' human desires. 'Sawn' the arabic word designates fasting and signifies more than eschewing food, beverage, cigarettes or intercourse from sunrise to sunset; it isn't an outside behavioral issue but a private commitment between ourselves and God. This inner struggle is aimed at making us stronger.
