'before and after'.. cycles and simple acts of mercy

overcome "darkness" ...

as i write

there has been much delirious buzzing about the coming grand cardinal cross line-up (April 2014)

which is to occur shortly after the March 2014 equinox/ingress point and Aries new moon: the speculations involve many dark scenarios because the planet Mars will be joining the cardinal cross... 

let us try to remember the various times of our lives which carried a drastic sense of "before and after"
the kind that was all transforming on many different levels...

weren't these periods of our lives usually confusing, sometime very painful and full of darkness?
most likely, yes.
despite any intuition or foreboding, could we have been able to predict the exact outcome for these transformations?
most likely, no.
even the most capable seers and psychics can only be 'approximative'...

that's because so much seems to happen outside our ultimate human control
and any thorough transformation seems to escape our best fathoming capacities

and if we look back at the whole process
we realize we could have saved ourselves much pain if we had only taken the time to collect ourselves in crucial moments
in order to keep our minds, our emotional reactions and our bodily activities... aligned

and if we look at the corresponding astrological timings in our charts,
we realize there usually is a major transpersonal planetary transit or line-up, involved in such periods of our lives.

the kind of transit, which is supposed to bring intense conflicts, havoc, a loss of sense for time/space and disruptive events
hopefully followed by a sense of resolution, liberation, renewed energy, expanded consciousness or wisdom

as far as long-range transpersonal planetary cycles (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto ..) are concerned,
they do mark new turns and directions and define humanity's gradual evolution

these cycles punctuate the various stages of our shared journey, its recounting mythologies and the unfolding of our collective consciousness
with a rhythmic series of "before and after"

sometime in the future, this very period we are currently living on a planetary scale
which seems to endlessly stretch, with one so-called crisis after another
and which affects us collectively in all levels

will probably be recalled as such a "before and after"

likewise 

a New Solar Year marks a new cycle

and also carries a sense of "before and after"

after much pondering and as i have been preparing to celebrate Nowruz (the Iranian New Year)

rather than writing a regular astrology post for the last Full Moon of the solar year 

which occurs in Virgo on 16 March 2014

i decided to share the spirit in which we Iranians, are supposed to conduct our rituals during the time of Nowruz, the New Solar Year ...

 

despite any thorough house cleanings, 

any jumping over the purifying fire during chaharshanbeh-suri

any setting of the holy haft-seen table 

or any other popular customs

we ought to remember

- that we "can not" celebrate and enter the New Year, a new cycle 

unless the previous one has been properly shut and unless we have "really" purified ourselves

- that the main alignment/preparation/purification 

only happens in the depth of our soul through sincere acts of mercy

and this full moon in Virgo is rather timely, in that the Virgo-Pisces axis favors such a purifying process

so in preparation 

for the new solar cycle and for the grand cardinal cross that will follow,

and to help clear the past... before starting the New Year with faith, a clean heart and fresh energized resolve

please allow me to share with you 

this simple act of mercy 

that can be performed by itself or

before getting on with your usual personal meditation practice

closing eyes, relaxing the body, quieting the breath and becoming fully aware of the present moment

allow a few minutes for the following

there are many ways in which we hurt and harm others knowingly and unknowingly
many times when we betray them, abandon them and cause them pain

in the many ways we cause suffering out of our own fear, confusion, pain, anger, hurt and misunderstandings
let us visualize these many instances

let us feel all the sorrows and guilt we still carry...
in this moment let us humbly ask for forgiveness and mercy 

may we be forgiven

in the same way we have hurt others
we have also hurt, betrayed, harmed ourselves and made mistakes,

let us visualize these many instances

let us feel all the sorrows we still carry...
in this moment let us gently offer ourselves forgiveness and mercy

in the same way we have hurt others
others have also hurt, betrayed, harmed and abandoned us,

they have caused our suffering knowingly or unknowingly out of their own fear, confusion, pain, anger, hurt and misunderstandings

let us visualize these many instances

let us feel all the sorrows we still carry...
in this moment let us turn our heart towards forgiveness and mercy

may we be able to open our heart and fully forgive them

let us release all the pain and sorrow

let us release the darkness

let us feel the peaceful lightness 

let us allow for the new "Light"

and

may Light 

always 

overcome darkness

in our heart
