Holding Light for Aryānām

As we move out of 2025 into 2026, the energies in Iran are entering a period of heightened transformation and visibility, extending far beyond what is shown in media and social networks. The patterns born in 1979 continue to unfold, reflecting both the nation’s internal dynamics and its role on the world stage.

The Islamic Republic, founded on April 1, 1979, emerged from decades of modernization under the Shah amid social upheaval, ideological realignment, and a profound search for national identity. Over the years, I have used several astrological charts for the IRI depending on context and focus of inquiry. For the current moment, I am using the 1 April 1979 founding chart. It indicates a Leo Ascendant, giving the nation a proud and highly visible presence; a Sun in Aries in the 8th house, tying identity to crisis, transformation, and shared resources; and a Moon in Gemini in the 10th house, highlighting the central role of public perception, governance, and communication. A cluster of planets in Pisces in the 7th and 8th houses emphasizes relational complexity, diplomacy, and the influence of spiritual or ideological currents, while Saturn and the North Node in Virgo in the 1st house point to discipline, control, and the shaping of authority through structure and correction. From the outset, the nation’s destiny has been marked by tension between internal pressures and external forces, with cycles of upheaval paired with moments of reinvention.

In its lower expression, this chart explains why the system that emerged became authoritarian, theocratic, secretive, and often brutal. The Sun in Aries in the 8th house implies a state identity formed through crisis and survival, ruling through emergency, fear, and control of security and resources rather than transparency. The Leo Ascendant, reinforced by Saturn (1st) and the Node in Virgo, adds moral absolutism and harsh discipline, producing a system that views punishment as duty and obedience as virtue. The Pisces concentration in the 7th and 8th houses blurs the boundary between faith and law, allowing religious language to justify secrecy, coercion, and sacrifice imposed in God’s name. With Mars in Pisces ruling the Sun, force is applied indirectly, through deniability, proxies, and ideological narratives, while Mercury in Pisces in the 8th house controls information, replacing facts with belief and enforcing silence through fear. A strong Neptune influence elevates ideology over accountability, and the water grand trine linking Jupiter in Cancer in the 12th house, the Pisces planets, and Uranus in Scorpio in the 4th house creates a closed, self-reinforcing emotional system that resists reform and lashes out violently when control is threatened. Astrologically, this expression is not accidental; it is the natural outcome of how authority was configured at the moment of founding.

Additional chart factors deepen this picture. The North Node in Virgo conjunct the 2nd house cusp emphasizes lessons around values, resources, and ethical stewardship, which at its lower expression manifests as rigid control over livelihoods but at its higher octave calls for responsible governance and protection of daily life. Lilith in Leo in the 12th house, conjunct the Ascendant, manifests shadow dynamics around authority and identity, erupting when its dominance is threatened; its square to Uranus in Scorpio at the nadir reflects deep, unresolved collective trauma, while the sextile to Pluto in the 3rd offers a channel for dialogue, truth-telling, and the transformation of narratives. When consciously engaged, these aspects support the release of buried shadow through awareness, reform, and restructuring how power is spoken about and exercised.

This same chart also holds a higher octave. Consciously expressed, the Sun in Aries in the 8th house guides courageous leadership through deep renewal, helping the nation confront trauma, corruption, and inherited wounds while transforming systems that no longer serve life. The Leo Ascendant matures into dignified, accountable leadership, and Saturn and the Node in Virgo shift discipline from punishment to service, turning law and structure into tools of protection and fairness. Pisces energies restore spirituality to compassion, mercy, and reconciliation rather than coercion. Mars in Pisces acts as a protector rather than an aggressor, choosing restraint over violence, while Mercury in Pisces promotes integrity, emotional intelligence, and sensitive disclosure of hidden matters. Neptune, consciously expressed, grounds vision in reality, and the water grand trine becomes a source of emotional healing, cultural renewal, and reform rooted in social empathy rather than repression. In its higher expression, this chart describes a nation capable of leading with humility, honoring spirituality without enforcing belief, and using its intensity in fostering wellbeing rather than oppression. A national unity government represents the clearest opportunity to embody these higher potentials, stabilizing resources, bringing hidden power dynamics into the open, and transforming fear-driven control into accountable governance.

In 2026, these chart patterns are activated in ways that bring both challenge and opportunity. Progressed energies point toward stability and careful resource management, while Solar Arc directions emphasize decisive action and visible leadership. Major transits, including Mars conjunct Pluto in January and Saturn meeting Neptune in February, catalyze change and demand that ideals be grounded in reality. Eclipse seasons mark turning points in public sentiment and leadership decisions.

For us Lightworkers, this is a moment to focus awareness, direct intention, and support the nation’s emergence. History reminds us how fragile such moments are: Shapour Bakhtiar’s attempt was undone by unrest and foreign interference, while Khomeini, backed by Western powers, rose to dominance. The echoes of 1921, 1953, and 1979 still shape Iran’s political and economic reality, revealing recurring cycles of internal struggle intertwined with external pressures.
The twelve-day conflict of June 2025 with Israel and the United States underscored the destructive consequences of instability and intervention. Against this backdrop, a national unity government offers a real opportunity to heal divisions, foster meaningful political participation, and protect the nation from further harm.

Iran now stands at a moment of rare clarity and possibility, with the opportunity to navigate its destiny consciously, mend long-standing divisions, and give every citizen a meaningful voice in shaping the future. How this transition unfolds will shape the lives of Iranians, influence the region, and resonate far beyond its borders.
By standing in alignment, directing attention toward areas of tension, and fostering balance, we can help transform fear into conscious clarity and guide events away from destructive conflict toward a peaceful, inclusive, and harmonious outcome for the nation and the collective consciousness it touches.

Holding Light for Aryānām, land of the noble, honorable, and pure.

Peace and Light.
