total lunar eclipse - Feb 08

Nasa

A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the night of Wednesday, February 20/21, 2008. The entire event is visible from South America and most of North America as well as Western Europe and Africa. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.

An eclipse of the Moon can only take place at Full Moon, and only if the Moon passes through some portion of Earth's shadow. The shadow is actually composed of two cone-shaped parts, one nested inside the other. The outer shadow or penumbra is a zone where Earth blocks some (but not all) of the Sun's rays. In contrast, the inner shadow or umbra is a region where Earth blocks all direct sunlight from reaching the Moon.

2° Virgo:
A Large White Cross Dominates The Landscape.

This Eclipse features a See-Saw pattern, with 8 planets in Capricorn, Aquarius, and Piscis opposing Moon conjunct Saturn in early Virgo and Mars on the periphery at 27 Gemini.
Mercury and Jupiter are the primary rulers of this eclipse, indicating it's time to launch a vision, whatever that means in your life.
With Chiron and Neptune as the other ruling pair, there is a metaphysical bent to this eclipse, where much concerning the collective will be called to its higher function.

With the conjunction of the eclipse to Saturn and its trine to Pluto, we are likely to find a push for more stability and a more serious approach to the matters at hand.
Jupiter, the planet of possibilities, is heading towards a sextile with Uranus over the next month, and the process of change and breaking away from the status quo is likely to continue (Kenya, Kosovo, Obama...).

This eclipse will take away power players from the past while opening the door to some extreme energies for good or ill.
For those pitting their little will against the Higher Law or the greater evolutionary trend, there will of course be crashes through unexpected events...
In our world, there is a clash between polarized views and ways that must be resolved.
The See-Saw Rectangle configuration cautions us not to get marginalized but include both views and more to any opposition.
Perhaps the outstanding quality of this Eclipse is that despite the See Saw polarizing aspect, there are no squares. This can provide for achievements without the gear grinds that squares usually symbolize.

Mars is a harmonizing force in this eclipse, calling you to follow your yearning for larger things.
Many will have to take leaps of faith to transcend the old duality, and in doing so they will achieve a measure of mastery in that realm of life.
Expect major adjustments, as well as the capacity to transcend old ways of experiencing your inner nature - adding more of the usual choices and forks in the road, and no doubt the pressure will offer us chances to demonstrate expertise in some skillful way.

Technicals for astrologers:
This activation will be given substance each time the Moon moves through the Rectangle points, just as the Light of what this eclipse is about will be understood much better in mid-March.
Expect major development around the Summer Solstice and early July, when we have lots of activity in early Cancer; the most profound insights will come in August.
