There are so many intricacies in the ascending path, such as the role of cause and effect which is in fact significant in any spiritual journey.
The experiences on such journeys are most often the result of past actions, choices, and our unique soul frequency that have led us to meet and connect with people whom we have a karmic connection or a soul bond with.

As for counterparts, their connection varies greatly in quality, depending on past life experiences and karma.. and in this context, it could be the result of actions and choices made in previous earthly lifetimes.
For those counterparts who are volunteers, the connection is the result of cosmic forces bringing them together in order to complete a common mission with a spiritual purpose.
Regardless, the ascending journey involves an energetic transmutation. In case of having to undo karmic knots and undergo a deep spiritual transformation, it can be facilitated by exploring past lives in order to gain a deeper understanding of the current circumstances.
Karma, reincarnation and past lives are not western concepts, and karma is different from fate. The role of past lives in a journey is multifaceted and complex, and because the very concept of past lives is ultimately highly misunderstood by the normal 3D mind (i would have to write several posts to fully explain how incompatible they are .. and the same goes with akasha and supposed akashic readings as “advertised” in new age communities.) it makes the exploration of such notions somewhat difficult for most people.
But by taking the risk in exploring these mysteries and taking the time to really perceive what is hidden behind them, we also may with time navigate better the process of releasing old outdated patterns, as well as manage better any ups and downs or push-pull effects that come along, and we may as a result achieve greater fulfilment.
Taking this path, may lead to de-programming the mind, accelerate liberation from certain densities and the gradual changing of timelines.. in the case of counterparts it may ensure their mutual ascension.
The difficulty lies in choosing a method.
My personal perspective on the topic of exploring past lives is not in alignment with circulating notions… I personally do not recommend past life regressions when seeking outside guidance, unless we turn to real initiates who are freed from personal filters, have reached a high level of liberation and are really prepared to assist the seekers.
As for TF, they have an innate capacity to explore their inner realms on their own, with proper practice.
As a general rule, I do recommend developing a daily practice and tapping into the meditative mind, in order to progressively liberate the 3D mental/emotional energies. Once you have quieted your mind, aligned and purified your chakras - you can then elevate your vibration in such a way to allow spontaneous emergence and recollections which will help you unlock etheric ‘windows’.
This is no fast road and takes much practice, but it is much more reliable than an experience with a phoney practitioner which ends up crystallising borrowed timelines through unnecessary concepts and images and which will keep you stuck.
Regardless of the path you take, the way out of the wheel is when you step out of fear and the workings of the mind. When you release all reasoning all accumulating all comparing all resisting all trying all identifying all expecting all imaging to become pure consciousness. When you release the past, the masks and the ego self to enter the flow of Being. When you practice simple rituals of purification, cleansing and healing. When you renounce any lower practice and focus on uplifting practice.
If you encounter difficulties in releasing your old self and its habits, focus on your task at hand while remaining detached from the outcome.. become one with the touch, turn your attention to your breath, to the present moment. Simply return to your heart-space where you feel the Pulse. Most simply.
